Experience Mapping Workshop

What customers experience, visible to everyone

package-experience-mapping-workshop-emanuel-jochum-zehetner

The Experience Mapping Workshop is for teams working across departments who want a shared picture of what customers actually experience. In half a day or a full day, I make visible where the gaps are, and we define together what should be developed next.

Half day (4 hours)

€ 2,500

excl. VAT and material fee (5%)

Full day (7 hours)

€ 3,400

excl. VAT and material fee (5%)

Who is it for?

For managers and team leads who work cross-functionally: when UX, product management, marketing and customer service have different pictures of what customers actually experience, and you want that made visible.

What you get

  • Your team has a jointly developed picture of the user or customer experience that holds across departments.

  • You see clearly where the biggest gaps between offering and expectation are.

  • You leave the workshop with concrete action areas you can carry directly into your planning.

  • The journey map stays useful as a living document.

What’s included

  • Prepared synthesis of existing data, insights and personas

  • Experience map as a collaboratively editable board (half-day up to 8 people, full day up to 12 people)

  • Summary with prioritised action areas (PDF)

  • Jointly owned foundation for the next decisions

Why work with me?

I’ve been facilitating workshops for years – in companies (LVA, EBCONT, SteadySense), organisations (Impact Hub Vienna, Education Lab, FOUR PAWS International), institutions (mumok) and at conferences (uxcon vienna).

I know the dynamic when teams have been working alongside each other for too long, and I know how to arrive at real decision foundations in half a day. What emerges in the workshop isn’t a picture for the wall: it’s a working basis your team can act on the next morning.

Frequently asked

How many people can take part?
Up to 8 for a half-day, up to 12 for a full day. More is rarely more productive. The workshop works because everyone really can participate.
Do we need our own research first?
No. I work with what’s available – data, personas, existing insights. That’s enough for a productive workshop.
What’s the difference from the Discovery Sprint?
The Discovery Sprint clarifies what users actually need. The Experience Mapping Workshop makes visible how your customers experience what already exists. Both can complement each other.
Can the workshop be done remotely?
Yes. I’ve run both formats – on-site and remote – several times. Remote workshops need a slightly different structure, but the quality of the results is comparable. We discuss what fits better beforehand.

What happens to the experience map afterwards?
You get the collaboratively editable board plus a PDF summary with the prioritised action areas. Both are prepared so they can feed directly into your planning rounds.

Also available as a methods training

Experience Mapping at EBCONTAlongside the workshop, I also offer this format as a one- or two-day training for teams who want to apply Experience Mapping themselves. This is where we can look more closely at which method mix (e. g. with a stronger focus on user research, or prototyping sessions with LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY®) works best for your needs.

How many versions of the truth does your team have?

When teams argue about priorities but have no shared picture of customers, let’s use 30 minutes to figure out which format fits.
